It was the Mayans who referred to dahlias as being messengers of the sun.  When I gaze at the golden rays encapsulated in this larger than life bloom, I can see why. It is a magnificent flower containing all that is bright warm and golden.

In the language of flowers this represents joyful and happy moments.
