These delightful petite little darlings are the color of tangerines, mandarins and rusty red, that offset the most delicious minty green centers. Although they say Spring, the color reminds me of Fall.
According to native American legend, they got this name when a Coyote seeking self-amusement, took to throwing his eyes into the air and catching them again. An Eagle flying by saw what he thought was food, and swooped down and snatched Coyote’s eyes. Unable to see without eyes, Coyote plucked two buttercups from the field and fashioned them into new eyes.
In the language of flowers, they represent I am dazzled by your charm.
