Anemone is a Greek word that means windflower and these darling spring flowers were once commonly known as ‘daughters of the wind’ -Anemos or wind.
According to Greek mythology, the anemone sprang from Aphrodite’s tears as she mourned the death of Adonis.
If spring designing is your desire, or you are wanting to create more of a ‘modern look’, the white anemone with its black centre never fails to achieve visual impact. Delicate yet bold in form, this lovely flower is perfect as a focal in any arrangement, or team with any other flower in the spring collection.
In the language of flowers, anemones symbolise forsaken or forgotten love and affection, as well as anticipation and excitement for something in the future.
