Did you know that it was the Christians who adopted the holly tradition from the Druids, Celtics and Romans? Before holly was hung in houses to dress Christmas trees it was considered to be a sacred plant to the Druids. While other plants wilted in the cold of winter, holly remained green and strong, and most resplendent with its brightly coloured red berries.
The Druids regarded holly as a symbol of fertility and eternal life and said it had magical powers, and to cut down a holly tree would bring bad luck. Holly was also thought to protect homes against lightning strikes. Romans associated holly with Saturn, the god of agriculture and harvest, and decked the halls with its boughs during the festival of Saturnalia.
In days gone by the early Christians consider holly symbolic of Jesus Christ. The red berries represent the blood that Jesus shed on the cross the day he was crucified.
In the language of flowers this wonderfully colored berry represents fertility and eternal life.

Each botanical is hand-made with meticulous care. It can take ½ an hour to cut the pieces for each flower, another 12 hours to dye, paint, dry and steam the petals, then up to 2 hours to construct the various parts into a finished piece.
The realism is in our attention to details. Petals, Stigma, Stamen, Stems: These are the parts our designers spend the most time perfecting. It’s what makes Prestige Botanicals stand apart.
Fill in for that hard to get variety, seamlessly mix them in with real flowers, and reuse them for endless arrangements! Our flowers are built to last decades. They can be bent and twisted back into just about any position.

United StatesI love Christmas. And one of my favorite stems is green (not green and white variegated) holly. But I hate that they get brown spots and get hard, brittle, and sharp. In a short while they don't look so festive. I was so stunned with the first Holly stem I got from Prestige Botanicals that I ordered four more. It looks real - the leaves, the berries, the colors; is soft and pliable; and you can leave the three-branch stem intact or cut it up into three shorter individual stems. The ordering process was easy, Prestige Botanical's communication excellent, my order was very well and very carefully packed so as to do the least damage to the items, and it arrived super quickly.
