The Christmas wreath has a spiritual meaning and represents the unending circle of life, with no beginning and no ending.  Its circular shape became the early Christian symbol of Christ’s suffering and triumph over death representing all eternity.  The evergreen being symbolic of growth and renewal.

The wreath dates back to the ancient Persian Empire where wreaths were believed a symbol of importance and success.  However, in those times they were much smaller and known as Diadems.

These Diadems were made of ribbon, laurel and other foliage and worn on the head as a sign of power and status.  Crowns, Tiaras, coronets and those still worn by the Royals all fall under the same umbrella today.

Today, the wreath is used to adorn and decorate our front doors, but as history tells us, way back in time its purpose was to protect and guard against the evils of death that mostly came with the dark of winter.

In the language of the botanical world, the wreath is symbolic of eternal life.  The mixed eucalyptus wreath represents transformation and liberation.

  • The long stem is designed to be folded whichever way you need it to go, and back again. It can easily be folded up on itself (and back) to more easily fit into your container, or trimmed entirely with a pair of wire cutters
