The primary fabric/polymers are die cut into the various shapes of the petals. There can be many dozens of petal shapes per specific flower.
Dying and Drying
The Petals are hand dyed and spin dried to remove moisture.
Steaming
The Petals are steamed to a specific temperature to bake in the dye.
Moulding
A pressure mould is applied to each petal to create the desired texture and approximate curvature for its place within the flower.
Fine-tuning
Each petal is hand curled along the edge to perfectly fine-tune the curvature. This takes about 60 seconds per petal - a single standard rose head can have up to 60 petals on it!
Assembly
The different petals are carefully adhered together by hand in the correct order, to create the specific bloom .
Individualisation
The complete bloom receives additional hand painted touches to create a one of a kind bloom - simulating the unique organic highlights found in nature. The bloom is then carefully fixed to its stem.
